This week's training (28th March - 3rd April)

Not a great week for training!

Missed press ups and situps on quite a few days although blame this mostly on not feeling too well (Mags and Alistair got bad colds and doing their best to pass on to me)

Saturday - Rest

Sunday - Raced 12km and followed this with 13km run home (tired legs at end), Race and run report here

Monday - Half hour spinning on turbo trainer

Tuesday - zip all

Wednesday - 32km on bike (flat). Averaged 26.4kmh. Winy on way home and legs still feel very tired

Thursday - Zip all

Friday
- Zip all

  2. Started last week but came to a grounding halt this week!

I think that the next few months will be getting a good fitness base together and won't be too worried about a schedule of training before e.g. Sept/Oct. Just need to get some hard miles in on bike and runs as well as build some sort fo kayaking base (the one I am nowhere near fit in)

Good to hear from you BTW

  3. Andy

Looking forward to following your progress over the next few months. It was amused to read your comments about your days back in the UK training with Blackwater Valley Runners.

Joking asides, your attitude to running and training is inspirational. I learnt lots about training and racing from yourself and Jock. Why else would ten or more of us turn up on a cold spring moring to do the Bracknell half marathon with all its winding paths and 180 degree turns?

I still am a firm believer that you need to enter races to maintain your focus and ensure your training doesn't become stale. Despite a couple of injury-prone years I am slowly getting back into my running and (thanks to you) I have a few races planned. My first being the Goodwood duathlon on Sunday.

Keep up the training and never lose your focus.

    Speak soon
    Chris
